Working in My Studio

What of connection?

As I sit here in my studio painting yet another piece where I attempt to build a 2 dimensional illusion of 3 dimensional connected structure I find my mind wandering on how all things are truly connected and what I know of connections…my mind strays into past and current concepts and creations….Six Degrees of separation. Shrinking World. Small World. Facebook. MySpace. Twitter….friendship…humanity…hmmm

The number of connections are greater in number but what of the depth. Is it not true that if a tree’s root structure is not solidly planted in the ground it will fall over? I see vast numbers of connections but little considerations as to their depths. What will daily life look like when depth is gone in human connections? Are we already there?
