The New Years Eve Reruns
It’s like there has been a writers strike for decades when it comes to bringing in the new year. There are the same tired activities happening over and over again world wide. I’m starting to think that evolution is at a stand still within the human species; so much for Darwin’s theory. I am generally a glass half full kind of person but when I see the same thing going on year after year, after year, after year…(you get the picture) I get a little cynical (although not too cynical). My question of the year is when are the masses going to do something really “NEW” to bring in the new year? Seems to me everyone is doing the same thing. Who said that New Years eve celebrations had to be about excessive consumption of food, beverage and energy? (Isn’t that what most people resolve not to do after midnight. So why would they do it before midnight?)Be inventive, be creative, be positively affective, don’t follow the crowd, come up with a NEW activity for New Years eve, it might even catch on and the masses will be doing it for the next umm….. several decades.
