Working in my studio…

Working on my sculptural effigies today.  I’m am always amazed at how much concentration and energy they take to make.  It seems that every part of the sculpture fights me.  Not one piece of these effigies seems to be created on the first attempt.  It must be why when I complete one it is so marvelous.

Why does bird song elevate our spirits?

 

 

Our ears prick for more as soon as our brains register the sound. Is it because they are reminders that they are the observers from the skys and we from the earth?

Sticks and Stones (part one)

Sticks and stones will break bones and names do hurt!I believe that we can get up in the morning with the capacity for compassion, our shared natural source provides us with this truth.

If we continually present our audiences with negative energy in the form of negative imagery we as artists are complicit in the degradation and sickened state of people within a cultural context.
